Despite the recent arrival of Archie Gray, Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou remains keen on bringing in fresh faces in the middle of the park.
Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg both look set to head out the door in search of regular first-team football.
Tottenham have reportedly explored involving Lo Celso in a swap deal in an attempt to sign Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey while Hojbjerg has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
Snapping up Archie Gray ticks a couple of boxes for Ange Postecoglou due to the youngster’s ability to play in midfield as well as right-back.
However, should Hojbjerg and Lo Celso depart, Spurs will need more reinforcements in midfield and according to HITC, the Lilywhites are keen on bringing in a player who’d add plenty of bite to the Spurs midfield.

Tottenham enquire about signing Joao Gomes
Spurs are among a host of top Premier League sides to have asked about signing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes this summer.
The Brazilian arrived at Molineux from Flamengo back in January last year for a fee worth around £15 million. Gomes has since impressed in England, earning a call-up to the Brazil squad and making his debut in March.
The 23-year-old’s bright start to life in the Premier League hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all enquiring about landing him this summer.
However, HITC notes that Gomes is in no rush to leave the Midlands and Wolves would only accept an offer that’s ‘too good to turn down’.

Gomes makes more tackles than Bissouma
Yves Bissouma’s start to the last campaign had many convinced that he would be the lynchpin of Postecoglou’s side moving forward.
But the Mali international’s form dipped significantly after picking up a red card at Luton Town back in October.
Further suspensions and his involvement in AFCON 2024 led to a disrupted campaign for the 26-year-old.
It was evident that Spurs needed extra depth at the base of midfield last season and Gomes would provide Postecoglou with one of the best ball-winners in the country.
Indeed, according to statistics site StatsMuse, only Fulham’s Joao Palhinha managed more tackles (154) than Gomes (128) in the Premier League last season.
The Wolves midfielder managed 53 more tackles than Bissouma in total, with the Spurs star making 75.
