Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is still currently a Tottenham Hotspur player.
The Danish midfielder has been a very good servant at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Signed in the Jose Mourinho era at Hotspur Way, the midfielder has amassed over 150 appearances for the club.
However, this season things haven’t been great got Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. He is simply not in favour for Ange Postecgolou and has been reported to be pushing for a move away from Tottenham.
This is why fans can’t stop arguing about his latest transfer decision.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg rejects Lyon, fans frustrated
Transfer guru Florian Plettigoal reported over the weekend that Hojbjerg has rejected Lyon’s advances in this January transfer window. He stated:
‘Lyon was pushing for PE Højbjerg in the last days but he rejected! Many clubs inquired about him. He’s one to watch in the next days as the 28 y/o is still open for a new challenge in winter.’
Fans have been more than a little frustrated by this, with Spurs seemingly unable to bring anyone else in until he departs, plus the fact he keeps pushing for a move – but then rejecting sides.
A first says: ‘Oh my god this guy will not leave even though he’s like 6/7th choice in midfield.’
‘This guy wants to leave but doesn’t want to leave,’ a second puts.
‘What is wrong with this guy? Doesn’t he want out?’ a third adds.
Finally, a fan says: ‘Wait I thought you couldn’t wait to go?’
We think Tottenham Hotspur fans are sort of missing the point here, which was argued by the other half of supporters underneath the post.

Tottenham fans argue Hojbjerg’s point
On the other hand, fans can completely understand Hojbjerg’s reluctance to leave to a team he doesn’t deem good enough – which is probably the case with serial Ligue 1 strugglers Lyon.
A first argues back: ‘I really don’t understand why fans have an issue with a player rejecting a move to another club. He’s under contract with the club: a deal the club was happy to give him. He doesn’t have to move unless it’s somewhere he wants to go. It’s fair enough whether we like it or not.’
A second agrees: ‘Why are people mad he doesn’t want to go to a relegation-fighting team? Sorry, but he’s better than that and he knows that.’
A final sums it up: ‘Our fans complaining about this don’t recognise that Lyon are in a relegation battle. It’s not 2006. Lyon isn’t a competitive team at all.’
Hojbjerg still could very well leave in the coming days, but one thing is for certain, it probably won’t be at Lyon!
