Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar and the club reportedly view him as a ‘Postecoglou-like’ player.
That’s according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs, who claims the winger is very much a target for Tottenham.
The journalist notes that McAteer is viewed as a player who would suit Ange Postecoglou’s demands.

This is due to the 22-year-old boasting the desirable traits of a Postecoglou winger, which include his high energy, an eye for goal and versatility.
But while McAteer is admired at Spurs, Jacobs states that their interest is more with a view of moving for the player in 2025.
McAteer on Tottenham’s radar
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jacobs shared what he’s heard about Tottenham’s interest in the Leicester forward.
“McAteer is a very Postecoglou-like player, and he’s had a breakthrough season at Leicester,” he said. “So, this is someone on Spurs’ radar, more for 2025 than 2024. But circumstances could change things.
“So, as far as McAteer is concerned, he’s extremely settled at Leicester and has played 13 games in the Championship, scoring four goals. He also got injured early in the 2023/24 season.
“But what Spurs like about him in terms of tracking him and planning potentially for the long term is that he’s a very Postecoglou-like player.
“He has high energy, can score goals, has a high ceiling, is still young, and can play attacking midfield, in central areas or as a right-winger. But Leicester know this as well.”

McAteer is enjoying a real breakthrough campaign with Leicester in the Championship.
The Englishman has netted four goals in 13 appearances in the league while also grabbing a goal in the League Cup against Liverpool back in September.
Tottenham have already been linked with a move for a talented winger in Antonio Nusa of late.
Fabrizio Romano claimed on Sunday that Spurs are ready to ramp up their efforts to land the Norwegian, with talks set to enter the ‘key stages’ soon.
But it wouldn’t exactly come as a surprise to hear Spurs have other targets lined up in the event they fail to pull off a deal for Nusa.
McAteer was playing in League Two with AFC Wimbledon during the second half of last season. Yet, he’s handled the step up the Championship exceptionally well and this could be one to keep an eye on over the coming months.
