Tottenham Hotspur’s potential summer swoop for Pedro Neto may depend on whether they take up Timo Werner’s permanent option.

The Lilywhites brought the German forward to the club in the January window, but it was only on an initial loan deal until the end of the summer.

However, recently it has been claimed Ange Postecoglou’s side could make a summer move for the Wolves winger.

Tottenham eyeing Pedro Neto move

According to a report from the Evening Standard, Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs who are keen on the Wolves winger.

We find ourselves in the frame with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool for the Portuguese forward who is believed to be valued in excess of £60m.

It is claimed Postecoglou is a big admirer of the 23-year-old who has provided Gary O’Neil with 13 goal involvements this season.

But a move for him in the summer may depend on whether the club look to take up the option to make Timo Werner’s stay permanent.

Tottenham expected to sign Werner

The summer window is still a long way away, but there has already been the suggestion Spurs are expected to take up the option to sign Werner.

In a Spurs shirt, the German has been able to provide two assists, but is yet to find the back of the net upon his return to England.

This was an issue for him during his days at Stamford Bridge where he was only able to provide a return of 23 goals across all competitions.

Having said that, Neto has not exactly shown signs of being a goalscoring winger with just two to his name in the Premier League this term.

Although he is still just 23-years-old, he could potentially be seen as a long-term successor to Heung-min Son.

But those type of numbers would not cut it in replacing our South Korean captain given he has already found the back of the net 12 times in the league.

It is clear there is a lot of expectation for the player Neto could become, but is it one which Spurs may feel is worth the huge asking price O’Neil’s side have slapped on him?
