Tottenham Hotspur will keep an eye on Ivan Toney’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Brentford striker looks set to move on from the west London club this summer, but his next club is still uncertain.

With just one year remaining on his current deal with the Bees, it is expected to be a potential move Spurs could be interested in.

Tottenham eyeing Ivan Toney transfer

According to Alasdair Gold, the north London club are expected to be monitoring the situation of the 28-year-old striker.

Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, he said: “I do wonder whether Spurs – in classic Spurs-style – look at a player with a year left on his contract and think, ‘you know what…’. And in that system, he would get so many goals. I wouldn’t rule that out entirely, Ivan Toney.”

The Brentford striker has spoken openly about the possibility of leaving in the summer transfer window.

And it is even something which his manager Thomas Frank has admitted during various interviews, as well as hailing him a “special player“.

It is believed Brentford value their striker at around £60m.

Ahead of the summer, it is now being suggested that Saudi clubs are expected to return for Richarlison.

He was a target for the Saudi Pro League last summer, but Spurs were not open to selling.

The Spurs News has been told ahead of the summer window that the club would consider his sale if the right money is put forward.

Which leaves a clear uncertainty as to who Spurs see their future striker as being.

Richarlison has shown some promising form this season, but whether he is capable of maintaining this long-term is another question.

A player like Toney could offer Spurs a consistent stream of goals and would likely be closer to a Harry Kane replacement than the Brazilian.

Toney was able to net an impressive 20 Premier League goals last season for Brentford.

If interest from other clubs is passing, perhaps Spurs could see this as a real opportunity.
