Tottenham Hotspur fans can expect changes this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to take the next step forward.

Tottenham’s top four hopes are officially over after losing 2-0 to Manchester City.

Ange Postecoglou has been left absolutely fuming as some Spurs fans appeared to want their own side to lose.

Defeat for Spurs means the title is in City’s hands heading into the final day rather than Arsenal’s.

That may be a little petty, but that is just how many Spurs fans felt heading into the game against City.

Postecoglou is desperate to bring a winning mentality to Tottenham and that will likely mean major changes in the transfer market this summer.

Middlesbrough yet to decide on Will Lankshear

Tottenham are bound to bring in attacking reinforcements to try and take a leap forward under Postecoglou next season.

The Spurs boss may be tempted to look at talents currently in the ranks too with Will Lankshear surely on his radar.

Lankshear, formerly of Sheffield United, has been in sensational form this season.

The 19-year-old hit 18 goals in 19 Premier League 2 games whilst also grabbing an assist.

Lankshear may be ready for a step up now and a loan move to Middlesbrough has been rumoured this week.

Teesside Live now offer an update, suggesting that Boro have indeed scouted Lankshear ahead of a possible move.

However, their report claims that Middlesbrough are yet to decide whether to actually make a move for Lankshear.

Michael Carrick’s side are scouring the Premier League for potential loan signings and Lankshear is one name to have popped up.

Yet with the transfer window not really moving yet, Middlesbrough are just looking into Lankshear rather than planning a loan bid right now.

Striker loans have been tricky for Tottenham

Tottenham will need to be very selective in terms of the loan market for Lankshear.

Troy Parrott was in this same boat in the past, but his first two loan spells at Millwall and Ipswich Town were disappointing.

Stints with Milton Keynes Dons and Preston North End were mixed but the Irishman is now shining with Excelsior in the Netherlands.

Dane Scarlett was a goal machine in the Tottenham ranks but only scored six goals across spells at Portsmouth and Ipswich Town.

First loans can be very tricky and Tottenham will be looking to make sure that Lankshear’s first move is the right one.

Sending Lankshear to play under a former Spurs ace in Carrick would appeal, especially in a Middlesbrough side which plays impressive football.

The Championship would be a big step for Lankshear though and Tottenham may actually prefer that he goes to League One if the right offer comes in.
