Real Madrid are plotting to sign a right-back in January following the ACL injury suffered by Dani Carvajal which has most likely ended his season.

Madrid have two clear targets in mind with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tottenham’s Pedro Porro the players they are eyeing up.

Alexander-Arnold is out of contract with the Reds next summer and can start negotiating a pre-contract agreement with clubs in January. It is currently unclear whether the 26-year-old will decide to leave Merseyside or put pen to paper over a new deal.

Porro would be a lot harder to get and more expensive as the Spaniard’s deal with Spurs runs until the summer of 2028. However, Daniel Levy’s stance over letting the right-back leave has been revealed.

Football journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Levy would likely be tempted to sell Porro for the right price should Real Madrid or Manchester City come in.

That price is expected to be around £70 million which would be close to double what Spurs paid for him back in January 2023 from Sporting Lisbon.

Jones told Ranks FC: “Absolutely. Now, the difference obviously between Porro and Trent is that Porro does have a contract and he ain’t going to be cheap.

“But as I spoke to someone last week about this, they were like, let’s be honest, Levy would sell at the right price if he gets like what, £70 million for Porro, which isn’t impossible anymore in terms of like elite full-backs.”

We will have to wait and see who Madrid decides to go after with Alexander-Arnold’s situation at Liverpool still up in the air.

How much is Pedro Porro actually worth?

Tottenham fans would certainly feel very underwhelmed if they were to lose Porro for £70 million given his quality and importance to Ange Postecoglou’s team. They want more than Josko Gvardiol’s record transfer to Manchester City worth £77.6 million.

Porro is far more than just a full-back for the Lilywhites given his incredible technical ability from his defence and his ability to be involved in goals.

The 24-year-old already has 18 goal contributions in 63 appearances for the North London club showing just how effective he can be going forward.

There have been question marks over his ability to defend, however, on several occasions this season he has shown great improvement in this area of his game.
