Fabrizio Romano has just confirmed that Tottenham have agreed a deal with Hajduk Split for 16-year-old Luka Vuskovic – but there’s a catch.
Just a day after what was an exhilarating North London Derby, news has just broken that Spurs have agreed to sign the highly-rated centre-back.
The Athletic reported around a month back that Spurs are close to completing the signing of Luka Vuskovic from Croatian side Hajduk Split in a deal worth around £12m ($15m).
Now it appears the deal has been fully confirmed, however, the 6’4 powerhouse won’t be coming to North London just yet…

Vuskovic to Spurs is officially on
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news just now via Twitter/X that the Croatian is Spurs-bound – but not until 2025.
‘Tottenham have completed the agreement to sign Luka Vusković from Hajduk Split, here we go confirmed — done deal,’ the Tweet reads.
‘It’s all sealed on clubs and player side. 16-year-old top talented centre-back will join Spurs in 2025. Exclusive story, confirmed.’
The centre-half will join Spurs in 2025, but why?
Why does Vuskovic have to join in 2025?
Vuskovic will not arrive at the North London club until 2025, why?
That is because under FIFA’s rules, as stated on the FA website, the United Kingdom’s exit from the EU through Brexit means that clubs in Britain are not able to sign players from overseas until they are 18 years old.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing for Spurs. It allows a couple more years to fully develop at a good level for the Croatian.
He’s already a regular in the first-team squad, so will continue to get game time – which won’t stunt his growth.
Roll on 2025! We’re excited to see Vuskovic when he finally arrives.
