Harry Kane may have left Tottenham Hotspur last summer but he remains a firm fan favourite in north London.
Tottenham had just four players at Euro 2024 this summer and not one made Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
James Maddison ultimately missed out after a dip in form following his return from an ankle injury last season.
With no English representatives at this year’s tournament, many Spurs fans have understandably been rooting for Harry Kane in recent weeks. The former Spurs star hasn’t enjoyed his best tournament but could yet pick up the Golden Boot award and the Euros.
England booked their place in the final last night thanks to a dramatic last-minute winner against the Netherlands from Ollie Watkins, who came off the bench to replace Kane after the Bayern Munich star had levelled things up from the spot.
After what proved to be an inspired move from Gareth Southgate, Gary Lineker has shared how he reacted after Kane was taken off in the 81st minute.

Lineker delivers Kane and Watkins verdict
Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Lineker admitted he was delighted to see Watkins being handed a chance to make an impact.
He said: “I have massive respect for Harry Kane, he is one of the greatest finishers, unbelievable player and England’s top scorer but when I saw Watkins coming on and I didn’t know who it was for I went ‘yes, now this is your opportunity’.
“You don’t get that many as a striker, once you are in there, grab it, grasp it, make it happen. That’s what he did. He made it happen. The run, the touch, the angle of the shot. The only place it can go in is in that bottom corner and he carried it out perfectly.”

Kane’s Euro 2024 stats
Despite being way below his best throughout the tournament, Kane has still played a key role in England’s run to the final.
The 30-year-old has bagged three goals in six games in Germany and kept his cool to get England back on level terms on Wednesday evening.
But Kane is undoubtedly capable of playing at a much higher level and England will be hoping he’s at his best for Sunday’s final in Berlin.
With Kane still searching for his first piece of silverware, the former Tottenham star will have the opportunity to end his wait against Spain.
