Tottenham Hotspur could explore the possibility of signing Barcelona forward and former Manchester City star Ferran Torres.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to enter the market for further attacking reinforcement this summer, despite snapping up Timo Werner on loan in January.

Spurs have already been heavily linked with moves for Wolves wide man Pedro Neto and Barcelona star Raphinha.

But Tottenham could also look at signing Raphinha’s current Barca teammate Ferran Torres as they explore attacking reinforcements ahead of the summer.

The Spurs News spoke exclusively to HITC Football’s Graeme Bailey, who shared the latest on our plans to bring in a new forward.

Tottenham could look at Ferran Torres

While Neto and Raphinha are admired at Spurs, a move for Torres cannot be ruled out ahead of the summer.

“A forward is very much on the agenda, it’s one they’d like to expand on,” Bailey said. “Raphinha, he’s a player we know they like.

“I think Premier League experience, ticks a lot of boxes, it’s no surprise Tottenham like him. Liverpool as well, West Ham and Chelsea are also keen.

“In terms of Ferran Torres, another former Premier League player who we know Arsenal like. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tottenham looked at him.

“Outstanding footballer, ticks a lot of boxes again. He can play that role of closing down, he did it at City.

“Neto has had such a good season and a great audition at the weekend. We know Tottenham do like him, he would clearly suit the way Ange plays. Ange will no doubt be impressed by him.”

Torres made the switch to Camp Nou from Man City for a fee worth around £46.3 million back in December 2021.

The Spaniard was lauded as a ‘brilliant’ talent by Pep Guardiola during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

It’s clear we need extra firepower up front and Postecoglou would certainly benefit from another option out wide.

Torres is capable of playing across the frontline and would offer the Spurs manager yet another versatile forward option.

The 23-year-old has racked up 15 goal involvements in 32 appearances this season.

As a player who has already experienced Premier League football with City, he could be the kind of option to come in and hit the ground running at Hotspur Way.
