Spurs are looking to go big this summer to keep their manager happy and are still wanting to sign another midfielder.

The North London club could be open to letting one of their top young assets leave, with Chelsea still showing an interest in him.

Chelsea have been scouting Lucas Bergvall at the World Cup

Chelsea had scouts watch Lucas Bergvall in action during Sweden’s 5-1 World Cup win over Tunisia on Monday, according to Simon Phillips.

The Blues were considering Bergvall when it looked like Spurs could get relegated, and remain keen on him now.

Speaking on SPTC Podcast, Phillips said: “I heard Bergvall again today. So, about three months ago, I got given his name and was told that Chelsea were looking at him because, you know, they were looking at teams who could get relegated and looking at some opportunities to sign some of their players.

“At that point, Tottenham looked like they might be getting relegated. So Chelsea have always really liked Bergvall, and they’ve watched him all season. I’ve heard that they’ve now had scouts watching him again at this World Cup.”

👀Who should be the FIRST Tottenham player sold this summer?🤔

Bergvall assisted Sweden’s fifth goal of the game after coming off the bench and produced an impressive 25-minute cameo.

The 20-year-old is very highly rated in North London, but with Sandro Tonali linked with a move to Tottenham, there are question marks as to where he now fits.

But even so, Spurs would be crazy to let one of their biggest young talents leave and especially to one of their most fierce rivals.
