Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add to their attack this summer, and the perfect addition could actually be Micky van de Ven’s Dutch teammate, Crysencio Summerville.
The Netherlands produced a statement win over Sweden on Saturday as they won 5-1 to move to the top of Group F after two matches.
👀 How would you react if Tottenham pulled off a deal to sign Sandro Tonali?
Is there a better midfield signing for Spurs than the Italian?
Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo both netted braces; meanwhile, Summerville capped off the win with a fifth in the 89th minute.
Controversially, the winger started on the bench, but he was subbed on and recorded a goal and an assist against the Swedes.
Tottenham must return for Crysencio Summerville after the World Cup
Tottenham Hotspur should be returning for West Ham United attacker Crysencio Summerville after the World Cup this summer.
Tottenham tried to sign Summerville in January, and the winger’s impressive form nearly helped to keep the Hammers in the Premier League.
But now, the 24-year-old is managing to maintain his impressive goal scoring form at the World Cup, with three goal contributions against Japan and Sweden.
The West Ham star came on at half-time versus Sweden, setting up the Netherlands’ fourth, before finding the back of the net himself.
Manchester United are also keen on Summerville, and there could be a real battle to sign the winger this summer.
Tottenham have also been linked with moves for Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, along with a shock move for Gakpo.
💰 Fill in the blank: Tottenham should pay no more than £__m for Savinho…
🤔 The 22-year-old managed just FOUR goals and THREE assists last season…
Jan Paul van Hecke has already been signed, and now Micky van de Ven should be pushing the club to sign Summerville.
Right now, Tottenham remain keen to bring in Savinho, with talks remaining ongoing with Manchester City over a deal.
But should they be unable to strike an agreement for the attacker, then Summerville could prove to be the perfect alternative target for the North London club this summer.
