Following one of the worst domestic campaigns in Tottenham Hotspur’s history, the club is set for major change in the playing squad over the summer.
Many players in this current Spurs squad must be moved on this summer, and need to invest big money to overhaul the playing staff.
Relegation could absolutely decimate this squad! 😫
Who do you think would be the first out of the door in the summer?
There is likely to be several high-profile departures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and especially so if the North London club is relegated.
With the summer transfer window now fast approaching, The Spurs News takes a look at the players Johan Lange needs to sell when it opens.
Micky van de Ven – Consider offers
Micky van de Ven could be one of the big name departures from Tottenham this summer, which would no longer upset many fans.
Van de Ven has been so poor recently, and with Luka Vuskovic set to return from his loan, the Dutch defender could be sold.
Fill in the blank: Micky van de Ven is worth £__m in this current market?
Luka Vuskovic – Keep
Vuskovic is one of the biggest young talents in Europe, and Spurs must fight tooth and nail to keep hold of him in the summer.
Many top clubs want to sign Vuskovic, but Spurs need to make sure he stays and build around him next season, should they stay up.
Mohammed Kudus – Keep
Mohammed Kudus looked superb when he was fit, and his absence from the Spurs squad has been a huge blow for the team.
Cristian Romero – Sell
Cristian Romero has just looked well off the pace this season, and many Spurs fans, like with Van de Ven, would be fine to let him leave.
Tottenham’s dressing still appreciates Romero, but question marks remain as to whether he is the right man to be captain.
🤔 You decide: Should Tottenham STRIP or KEEP Cristian Romero as the captain?
Xavi Simons – Keep
Xavi Simons has been a big disappointment this season, with just five goals and six assists, but he has shown enough promise to give him another season.
Pedro Porro – Consider offers
Pedro Porro is another player who has been nowhere near his best this season and is a player the North London should consider cashing in on.
Lucas Bergvall – Keep
Lucas Bergvall is one of Spurs’ brightest talents and a player the Lilywhites need to build around in the future.
Dominic Solanke – Sell
Dominic Solanke cost Tottenham £65 million, and whilst he has scored plenty of goals, the striker just does not stay fit for long enough.
Solanke has missed 33 matches this term with an ankle injury, and he was also sidelined for 15 games last term.
Dejan Kulusevski – Keep
It is coming up to 12 months since Dejan Kulusevski was last in action for Spurs, and the winger seems no closer to making his return.
Even if Tottenham did want to sign the 25-year-old, it is very unlikely they would find a club willing to sign him, given the trouble his knee has caused him.
Conor Gallagher – Sell
Conor Gallagher has been a terrible signing for Tottenham, making next to no impact following his £36 million move from Atletico Madrid.
Gallagher is Tottenham’s highest earner, and he plays in a position where the squad is already so well-stacked.
What GRADE would you give Conor Gallagher’s signing at Spurs?
Destiny Udogie – Sell
Similar to Solanke, Destiny Udogie is a great player, but has also struggled to stay fit over the last two seasons and the club need to move him on.
The Italian defender has been unavailable for 19 matches this season and left the team short in the full-back area.
Archie Gray – Keep
Archie Gray has been Tottenham’s Player of the Season so far, and the North London club need to build around him in the midfield.
Pape Matar Sarr – Keep
Pape Matar Sarr still needs to add consistency to his game, but when he is at his best, the 2026 AFCON winner is still a top midfielder.
Djed Spence – Consider offers
Tottenham’s full-backs have just not been good enough this season, and that also includes Djed Spence, who has looked very poor.
Richarlison – Sell
Richarlison could be key in helping Spurs remain in the Premier League in the final seven matches, but this summer is the time to finally move him on.
James Maddison – Keep
James Maddison has not kicked a ball this season, and just like Kulusevski, even if Spurs were to consider selling him, finding a buyer could be tricky.
But given his quality and leadership, Maddison remains a player who can play a key role in N17 for at least a few more years.
Mathys Tel – Consider offers
Mathys Tel has shown signs of improvement over recent weeks, but just three goals and one assist this term is just not good enough.
Guglielmo Vicario – Sell
Guglielmo Vicario is set to return to Italy this summer, with Inter Milan one of the clubs looking to sign him.
The goalkeeper has been really poor this season, and finding a replacement should be one of the priorities for the summer.
Rodrigo Bentancur – Sell
Rodrigo Bentancur just has not looked the same player since his two big injuries, and is a player the club need to move on.
Mikey Moore – Keep
Mikey Moore has been brilliant on loan at Rangers and is showing why he is one of Tottenham’s most exciting young talents.
🤔 Next summer, should Tottenham Hotspur KEEP or LOAN Mikey Moore?
The 18-year-old is likely to be a key part of Tottenham’s squad next season, regardless of which division they are playing in.
Kevin Danso – Keep
Kevin Danso remains a very reliable option for Tottenham and should be kept for next season.
Radu Dragusin – Sell
Meanwhile, Radu Dragusin has struggled since coming back from injury, and a move away in the summer seems very likely at this stage.
Joao Palhinha – Return to Bayern
Tottenham have a £26 million option to sign Joao Palhinha, but it seems unlikely that they will trigger the clause in the summer.
The Portuguese midfielder has had some good moments at Spurs, but given his age and ability on the ball, Spurs must avoid signing him permanently.
SIGN or SEND BACK: Should Spurs make Joao Palhinha’s deal permanent for £26m?
Randal Kolo Muani – Return to PSG
Randal Kolo Muani’s loan spell has been a bit of a disaster and the striker has made little to no impact since joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Antonin Kinsky – Sell
Antonin Kinsky’s 17 minutes against Atletico Madrid look to have cost him any chance of making it at Tottenham.
The 22-year-old has not been given much of a chance to prove himself, but he clearly has not earned that opportunity either.
Yves Bissouma – Release
Yves Bissouma’s contract expires in the summer, and he should be allowed to leave for free in the summer.
Souza – Keep
Souza looks like a decent buy from Spurs and one for the future.
Ben Davies – Release
Ben Davies has been a superb servant for Tottenham during his 11 years in North London, but with his contract up, it should be time for him to leave.
Unless Spurs are relegated to the Championship, the defender could suddenly become quite a useful player to have around still.
