Micky van de Ven should be left out of the Tottenham Hotspur team, with Kevin Danso keeping his place following his performance in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Danso partnered Radu Dragusin in defence for Spurs, and the pair looked surprisingly solid away at Anfield.

Van de Ven was suspended for the match after being sent off against Crystal Palace; meanwhile, Cristian Romero was unavailable due to a concussion.

Both defenders have really let Spurs down this season, and for the massive game against Nottingham Forest next week, Danso should remain in the team.

Tottenham must drop Micky van de Ven for Kevin Danso

Igor Tudor must drop Micky van de Ven for Kevin Danso when Tottenham Hotspur face Nottingham Forest next weekend.

Van de Ven’s sending off against Palace was very costly for Spurs as they threw away a 1-0 lead and suffered a damaging defeat.

The Dutch defender was very lucky not to have been sent off against Atletico Madrid, and also made a terrible mistake to gift them their second goal.

Meanwhile, Danso seized the chance to claim his spot in Tottenham’s line-up with both hands against Liverpool by producing a huge performance.

🗳️ VOTE for Spurs’ best player vs Liverpool…

For the first time in many weeks, Spurs actually looked defensively sound, and the 28-year-old played a big role in keeping the Reds at bay.

Liverpool’s only goal came from a Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick, which Guglielmo Vicario produced a horrible error, but otherwise, the Reds didn’t really look that threatening.

Danso managed some impressive stats, including 13 defensive contributions, nine clearances, five duels won, and one last-man tackle.

The Austrian international has been a great signing for Spurs for just £25 million, and there is no reason why he shouldn’t start for Spurs against Forest.

Kevin Danso’s record for Tottenham this season

Tottenham actually have a decent record when Danso has featured this season, losing just nine of the 27 matches he has played.

Danso has featured in impressive away wins over Everton, Leeds, Crystal Palace and Manchester City in the Premier League.

In the Champions League, he played 90 minutes in wins over Villarreal, Copenhagen, Borussia Dortmund and Frankfurt, in which Spurs kept clean sheets in all four.

Tudor has nothing to lose by dropping Van de Ven and making sure that Danso plays alongside the returning Romero.
