One of Tottenham’s most underrated players produced another strong display in the team’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa and the players love him.

Spurs cruised to victory over Villa as they won 4-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to move into seventh and just two points off the top four.

Dominic Solanke returned to the scoresheet against Unai Emery’s side with a brilliant brace whilst James Maddison and Brennan Johnson also netted in the win.

After the game, one of Spurs’ stars, who played just 29 minutes, was praised by both the supporters and players and it’s about time he was given the credit he deserves.

Ben Davies superb again vs Aston Villa

Ben Davies deserves his flowers for yet another underrated display in a Tottenham shirt. When Cristain Romero went off injured in the 61st minute, Spurs fans will have been fearing the worst for their defence having already lost Micky van de Ven.

However, up stepped the 31-year-old and put together a top performance against some of the best attackers in the Premier League in Ollie Watkins, Jhon Duran and Morgan Rodgers.

Davies, who was making just his first league appearance of the season, did not put a foot wrong against Villa and helped Spurs go from 1-1 to 4-1 with some impressive moments.

The Welsh international is now in his 11th season at the North London club and still proving to be a dependable option for the team. Davies also replaced Romero against City in the Carabao Cup and again looked solid off the bench.

Tottenham’s players also appreciated Davies’ efforts in the win and left him plenty of messages on his Instagram post after the game.

James Maddison summed up how most Spurs feel about the defender by writing, ‘Mr Reliable’, meanwhile, the club’s official account, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevsi also showed him love.

Davies is expected to start alongside Radu Dragusin for Thursday’s trip to Galatasaray in the Europa League with Tottenham looking to maintain their perfect start to the competition.
