Ange Postecoglou has brought in some phenomenal talent during his short tenure at Tottenham Hotspur.

The likes of James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario have all been sensational for Ange Postecoglou‘s side this season.

The manager and his coaching staff have finally got together a squad of players who seem to gel – which is a rarity in a Tottenham Hotspur side.

The arguable star performer among the bunch? Pedro Porro – he’s been sensational this season.

Pedro Porro has everything for Tottenham Hotspur

With Postecoglou coming in at Tottenham, it was a worry how the £42m man in Porro was going to adapt to playing as a right-back instead of a wing-back – but he’s transitioned seamlessly.

Alongside Destiny Udogie on the other flank, has completely revolutionised the way Tottenham bomb forward.

Porro is up there with the Premier League‘s best regarding stats this season. He already has a whopping seven assists and also has a goal to his name elsewhere from England’s top flight after a stunning strike in the FA Cup.

His defensive qualities were a worry to begin with, but so far he’s shown he’s more than capable of holding his own in the backline. It does help when you have two accomplished centre-halves, Cristian Romero and Van de Ven alongside him.

Postecoglou has hit the jackpot with the full package in a full-back. This was something Jose Mourinho and Tottenham Hotspur fans were hoping was the case with a certain other Spanish full-back in 2020.

Sergio Reguilon was supposed to be all of this for Tottenham

Jose Mourinho fended off Manchester United to sign Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid on a five-year deal in 2020. The Spanish full-back arrived with great expectation, having been performing excellently in La Liga.

Reguilon was dubbed as the full package. An exciting, pacey left-back with the capacity to attack as well as defend. It was an exciting purchase.

Four years down the line, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard is on the verge of joining Brentford on loan. A fall from grace, to say the least.

Reguilon was supposed to be everything Porro is. It’s a real shame he never lived up to his potential. Nevertheless, at least Spurs got it right with a Spanish signing the second time around.
