Tottenham Hotspur take a point at Old Trafford.
Ange Postecoglou will be happy with how his side battled to come back from a goal down twice as they drew 2-2 with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Alongside their resilience, certain Tottenham players also stepped up to the task with numerous players missing in the clash. These included star men such as Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Pape Matar Sarr.
Particularly in Sarr’s absence, one player stepped up. Oliver Skipp was excellent against Manchester United.

Oliver Skipp the unsung hero
Skipp deserves credit for how he did things at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old midfielder was an engine in that midfield and was a huge part of Tottenham dictating play, especially in the second half.
Skipp barely gave the ball away all game and he was just as astute defensively – take a look at his stats.
- 85 minutes played
- 37 touches
- 26/28 accurate passes (93%)
- 4 times possession lost
- 0 fouls
- 0 times dribbled past
Considering Manchester United have a great midfield, with in particular one of the hardest-working players in world football in Bruno Fernandes, Skipp should be commended.
He also did well in attacking phases, often being positive and carrying the ball forward. This was apparent in Rodrigo Bentacur’s goal.
Skipp also arguably should have had an assist, which would have been up there with one of the all-time greats.
Oliver Skipp’s sublime pass to Timo Werner
In the first half, Skipp produced one of the passes of the season to Werner which left us and fans mesmerised.
If James Maddison or Bruno Fernandes made this pass, everyone would have been all over it for weeks, but it more or less went under the radar.
Skipp is by no means a finished article, but he deserves praise for his performance against the Red Devils.
