Xavi Simons came close to a dream debut for Tottenham Hotspur, and fans will love his social media reaction to his bow.

Simons signed from RB Leipzig at the end of last month for £51million and went straight into Thomas Frank’s starting XI in their first game post-international break.

It wasn’t just any normal debut for Simons, with Spurs facing London rivals West Ham at the London Stadium. The north London side ran out 3-0 winners, with the Hammers struggling to lay a glove on the visitors and going down to 10 men in the second half after Tomas Soucek was sent off for a reckless challenge on Joao Palhinha.

Simons racked up 71 minutes in east London, and judging by his reaction on X, he absolutely loved his first run out in a Spurs shirt.

Xavi Simons makes instant impact with assist for Pape Sarr

Simons bagged his first goal contribution in the clash against the Hammers, assisting Pape Sarr’s goal.

The midfielder opened the scoring, with Simons setting up an unmarked Sarr who made no mistake as he headed home to put Frank’s side in front.

Goals from Lucas Bergvall and Micky van de Ven followed, as Frank became the third Tottenham manager to win his first two away top flight matches in the club’s history, along with Ossie Ardiles in 1993/94 and Tim Sherwood in 2013/14.
