Xavi Simons is facing several months out of action after picking up a serious knee injury against Wolves on Saturday.

It’s a devastating time for Simons in a World Cup year, with his hopes of playing in that now over, and he’s sent a message to the club’s supporters following this serious injury.
What Xavi Simons has said after injury prognosis revealed
Simons is completely devastated to have picked up this injury at such a pivotal stage of the season for both Tottenham and ahead of the World Cup with Holland.
Now, the emotional stress that he’s going to go through will be as bad as the physical anguish, and he will need good people around him to get through this.
Shortly after the details of the injury were revealed, Simons took to Instagram to send an emotional message to the Tottenham supporters.
He said: They say life can be cruel, and today it feels that way. My season has come to an abrupt end, and I’m just trying to process it.
“Honestly, I’m heartbroken. None of it makes sense.
“All I’ve wanted to do is fight for my team and now the ability to do that has been snatched away from me… along with the World Cup. Representing my country this summer…just gone.
“It’ll take time to find peace with this, but I’ll continue to be the best teammate I can be. I have no doubt that together we’ll win this fight.
“I’ll walk this path now, guided by faith, with strength, with resilience, with belief, as I count down the days to getting back out there.
“Be patient with me. TTP. COYS🤍 🧡”
Tottenham now have to make the most of this devastating situation, and other players will have to step up in the fight for survival.
Simons had looked in recent weeks to be firmly up for the challenge of helping Tottenham remain in the Premier League, and this is naturally a huge blow.
Now, there is nothing that can be done, and De Zerbi needs to come up with a way to try to combat the injury and get other players stepping up in his absence.
Tottenham have it all to do in the fight for Premier League survival and Simons’ injury is bound to lead to the fan base getting somewhat nervous all over again.
