Tottenham Hotspur signed Joao Palhinha in the summer from Bayern Munich, and his goal against Wolves at the weekend could prove absolutely priceless.

Palhinha is a proven Premier League central midfielder, and his form has been somewhat sporadic across the course of the season.

As a star at Fulham, he earned himself the move to Bayern Munich, and after a struggling year there, he was loaned to Tottenham, with the club now seemingly making a decision on the player.

Tottenham change their mind on Joao Palhinha clause

It had been claimed that Tottenham were considering letting Palhinha go back to Bayern in the summer, but now, that mindset might have shifted.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham are happy with Palhinha in his current form and will try to renegotiate with Bayern.

It’s believed that Tottenham don’t want to pay the £27 million fee that had already been agreed, and a deal to buy him would be off if Bayern don’t drop their price.

The Bavarian giants are keen to sell him, and now it does feel as though the ball is very much in their court over whether or not he gets sold to Spurs.

Palhinha has been a regular in the team this season as Tottenham have struggled and grabbed his latest goal against Wolves in the 1-0 win at Molineux.

Perhaps De Zerbi’s more attacking approach can start to get more out of Palhinha and if the club remains in the Premier League, it’s hard to imagine too many supporters being disgruntled if he is signed permanently.
