Tottenham Hotspur are in midweek Premier League action as they head to Bournemouth on Thursday night.

Spurs will hope to get back to winning ways at the Vitality Stadium following two consecutive draws in all competitions.

Tottenham will face a Cherries side currently sitting 13th in the Premier League table and going into the game on the back of a 4-2 win over Wolves.

Paul Merson and Chris Sutton, two pundits who regularly preview Premier League games and predict their results, have now had their say on Bournemouth v Tottenham.

Chris Sutton predicts 2-2 draw between Bournemouth and Tottenham

Sutton, writing on BBC Sport, went with a 2-2 draw, but he admitted it would be a very difficult game to predict.

“Good luck to anyone trying to predict this one,” he wrote. “The only thing I am sure about is that there will be a lot of goals.

“Wolves went toe to toe with Bournemouth on Saturday and the Cherries created chance after chance.

“Tottenham will go toe to toe with the Cherries too, and there are going to be a lot of opportunities at both ends.

“I don’t want to go for another draw this week, and I think Bournemouth are more likely to edge it…

“But rather than trying to pick a winner I am going to say they will share the points.”

Paul Merson backs Bournemouth for 2-1 win over Spurs

Paul Merson, writing on Sportskeeda, also suggested that Tottenham were a difficult team to predict these days.

However, he also predicted that Spurs wouldn’t win this game – indeed, he backed Bournemouth to run out 2-1 winners over Postecoglou’s side.

“Which Tottenham will turn out in this one? They are a mixed bag and that’s the problem,” he said.

“We don’t know what we’ll get from Spurs and that’s why they are a football pundit’s worst nightmare!

“Tottenham could win 3-0 or go on and lose this game 3-0, either way we wouldn’t be surprised because that’s just how they are.

“Spurs were expected to kick on after that 4-0 win over Manchester City, but they have actually been quite disappointing in draws against mid-table sides like Roma and Fulham.

“I don’t usually go against Tottenham a lot in my predictions, but I’m changing that here because they’ve been frustrating to watch since that win over City.

“I’m backing Bournemouth to get the win on home turf.”

Wednesday night’s Premier League game between Bournemouth and Tottenham is scheduled to kick off at 8:15pm GMT at the Vitality Stadium.

Spurs have a busy period ahead of them, with games in the Premier League, Europa League and Carabao Cup before the FA Cup trip to Tamworth FC on the weekend of 11/12 January.

There’s a good chance all eyes will be on the Lamb Ground that weekend – and Tamworth’s fans and manager were certainly buzzing about drawing Tottenham in the cup.
