Tottenham have made an announcement about Dele Alli ahead of the North London derby clash against Arsenal.

Spurs fans have waited long enough since their last match, which was a 2-1 loss against Newcastle that eventually led to Thomas Frank being sacked.

Igor Tudor will be in charge of his first-ever Tottenham and Premier League game, and it certainly does not get any bigger than facing their rivals in North London.

The 29-year-old has had an eventful career since leaving Tottenham back in 2022.

He first moved to Everton and was there until 2024, but failed to nail down a regular starting berth as he faced fitness issues.

The Englishman also joined Besiktas on loan, while he was on the books at Goodison Park before moving to Como, where he made just one appearance.

Currently, Alli is a free agent despite links from clubs in England and Spain over the summer transfer window.

Why Alli is still loved by the Tottenham fans

Alli represents the golden era of the club and that is why fans look back at him and that time so fondly.

Mauricio Pochettino managed to get the best out of a number of players, including the 29-year-old.

During his time at the club, Alli scored 67 goals in 269 appearances in all competitions and was unplayable in his early 20s.

He even drew comparisons to the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard for how quickly he burst onto the scene.

The attacking midfielder gave the fans a number of special moments to reminisce over, including important goals, his work-rate and his flair.

He also connected well with the fans when he was on the books at Spurs, and that is something they will always remember.
