Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is coming into question after his team suffered a seventh Premier League defeat of the season.
Tottenham allowed another two-goal lead to slip, this time to their bitter rivals Chelsea who won 4-3 in North London. The defeat leaves Postecoglou’s job in danger after his team suffered yet another implosion this season.
It has left once again Daniel Levy facing the prospect of having to sack his manager, although the Spurs chairman has already made his decision over the Australian coach’s future.

Daniel Levy makes Ange Postecoglou sacking verdict
Daniel Levy is continuing to support Ange Postecoglou despite recent results, according to the Daily Mail. Tottenham have won just once in their last seven matches, however, there is an understanding from the North London club over the situation.
The Lilywhites appreciate that Postecoglou’s team has been significantly hampered by injuries this term with several key players having missed large parts of the campaign. The Club want to give the 59-year-old time to try and turn things around at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Daily Mail report: “Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou maintains the immediate backing of chairman Daniel Levy despite the team’s alarming form.
“There is an understanding that the team, particularly in defence, have been hampered by key injuries – notably to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. While results will inevitably be the overriding factor towards Postecoglou’s long-term future, Spurs want to give their head coach time to improve results.”
Postecoglou called for Levy’s backing in the transfer window with the team in desperate need of reinforcements given how thin the squad is right now.
Can Ange Postecoglou turn things around at Tottenham?
The games continue to come thick and fast at Postecoglou and Tottenham who play once every three days over the next few weeks. There are some big fixtures coming up too including Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and Liverpool in the Premier League.
Next up is a crucial Europa League group stage game away at Postecoglou’s old arch-enemy, Rangers. The Scottish side are sat just above Spurs in the group and are currently in the final spot of the top eight making this game vital for both teams.
