What Tottenham now plan to do in transfer market after Richarlison snubs Saudi move

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy on the transfer front over the coming weeks as Ange Postecoglou looks to add the finishing touches to his squad.

Spurs have made two signings so far this summer, bringing Archie Gray to N17 from Leeds United and also securing the signature of Yang Min-hyuk from FC Gangwon.

However, Tottenham could certainly do with a few more first-team additions, and a new striker is said to be one of their top priorities.

Likewise, Spurs are likely to move some more individuals on, having already parted company with nine players through free transfers, sales and loans.

Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for a number of weeks now, with clubs in the Saudi Pro League reportedly keeping tabs on him.

However, the Brazil international has admitted he’s not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia, saying he wants to stay put in the English top flight.

“There has been an offer but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Selecao and in the Premier League speaks louder,” Richarlison told ESPN Brasil.

Journalist Joao Castelo-Branco, who conducted the interview, added that Richarlison is happy at Spurs.

Tottenham still pursuing new striker regardless of Richarlison future

Although there have been concerns that this may scupper Tottenham’s transfer plans – as speculated by talkSPORT, for instance – this is not necessarily the case.

According to Sky Sports News journalist Lyall Thomas, Spurs’ pursuit of a new striker is ‘regardless of Richarlison’s future’.

Thomas reiterated that Tottenham are keen on Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke. And in recent days, Ivan Toney has emerged as a target once again.

Richarlison a top talent with great character

Richarlison is a hard-working, committed and passionate player who wears his heart on his sleeve, and prioritising passion over money speaks volumes about his character.

It’ll be exciting to see how he fares next season, and if all goes well, someone else will come in to work alongside him as opposed to taking his place in the squad.

In addition, here is what some Tottenham fans have made of Richarlison’s comments about his future.
