Further investment at Tottenham Hotspur looks set to become a reality in the future.
Tottenham confirmed in April that the club was in talks with potential investors over securing extra investment.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy confirmed such talks himself when the club released its financial results.
“To capitalise on our long-term potential, to continue to invest in the teams and undertake future capital projects, the club requires a significant increase in its equity base,” Levy stated.
“The Board and its advisors, Rothschild & Co, are in discussions with prospective investors. Any recommended investment proposal would require the support of the Club’s shareholders.”
While things had been quiet on that front since, it was reported just last week that Spurs were in talks with investment firm MSP Sports Capital over a 40 per cent stake in the club.
But these claims have reportedly been knocked back by people at Tottenham this week.

What people at Tottenham have said about investment rumours
According to Football.London, those within Spurs have ‘strongly shot down’ rumours that the club is in talks with MSP Sports Capital.
It’s noted that this would suggest that if any talks did take place, it’s likely they did not reach an outcome that would lead to further investment at Tottenham.

Why Tottenham are seeking further investment
Tottenham have been heavily linked with a number of interested parties when it comes to investment over the past year.
MSP Sports Capital is just the latest after Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) were also rumoured to have held talks with Levy last year.

Nevertheless, it’s apparent that Levy and Spurs view the current period as the right time to seek out further investment.
In the club’s statement, Levy put the reasoning down to wanting to ‘capitalise on our long-term potential, to continue to invest in the teams and undertake future capital projects, the club requires a significant increase in its equity base’.
From a supporter’s point of view, any added funds to go towards on-pitch success would likely be viewed as welcome.
With Tottenham still without a major piece of silverware during the ENIC era, it’s fair to say that Spurs supporters’ patience has been tested in recent years.
