After almost a year out of action, James Maddison has finally made his return for Tottenham Hotspur.
The attacker injured his ACL during a pre-season friendly, and it’s been a long road to recovery for Maddison.
Tottenham introduced Maddison with a matter of minutes remaining, and he made an impact during his short time on the pitch.
How are we not getting these decisions? 😡
Spurs still have not been awarded a penalty this season… 😳
In the dying seconds of the game, he thought he’d won a penalty when Lukas Nmecha seemed to foul him – although replays showed he got a slight nick on the ball.
When Maddison came onto the pitch, Daniel Farke produced a lovely moment that went some way to restoring faith in modern-day football.

Daniel Farke produces classy gesture to James Maddison
Farke might have to be in the discussion for Manager of the Year, given that he’s kept Leeds up with three games remaining.
They played their 36th game of the campaign last night, safe in the knowledge that they’re now safe, which can’t be said about Tottenham.
When Maddison was about to come on the pitch, Farke made every effort to welcome the Spurs player back and moved to shake his hand and give him a warm embrace.
It was a classy gesture in the heat of battle and showcases that he still thinks a lot of Maddison from their time together at Norwich.
Roberto De Zerbi now has decision to make on Maddison
In the time that Maddison spent on the pitch, Tottenham played far more on the front foot, and now De Zerbi has a decision to make.
Given the severity of his injury, the head coach won’t want to rush him back to first-team action but Tottenham are in dire straits at the moment!
Maddison has that little sprinkle of magic that could help Tottenham stay in the Premier League and now De Zerbi must decide whether to unleash him from the start against Chelsea.
