Tottenham Hotspur travel to Coventry City in the Carabao Cup and the game presents Ange Postecoglou with a chance to blood some of the club’s youngsters.
Spurs’ academy has produced some special players over the last couple of years but the next two jewels appear to be Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear.
The teenagers have been kept around by Postecoglou for the first team and the duo look set to be given game time in upcoming matches.
Moore and Lankshear both made strong impressions over pre-season having gone on tour of Asia with the North London club. Tottenham’s manager has now been full of praise for the pair.

Postecoglou struck by the maturity of Tottenham’s teenagers
Postecoglou has revealed that Moore and Lankshear are both showing great maturity in training and he is ready to give them game time this season.
Speaking in his press conference on September 17, the Spurs boss said: “I’m really excited about the young players we’ve brought in and the ones who are coming in, and look, another manager might be the beneficiary of them, I don’t know.
“But over time they’re going to be really good footballers and make an impact. They’ll only develop if they play, so we’ve got to allow them to play.
“The three we’ve brought in, with Mikey [Moore] and young Will Lankshear as well, Wilson [Odobert], Archie [Gray], Lucas [Bergvall], I just love watching them in training at the moment. They want to play, they want to make an impact.
Tottenham’s transfer activity over the summer has been criticised by fans with the club bringing in four teenagers, however, Ange insists signing youngsters is important for sustained success.
“They don’t look or behave like 18, 19-year-olds. Which is great for me. When they’re 21, they’re hopefully going to be flying and it’s part of our responsibility to develop them. If you want to have a successful period, you can’t just bring in experienced players to have one hit at success,” he added.
Mikey Moore must feature vs Coventry
Moore has already shown he is ready for senior football when he destroyed Bristol Rovers in the Football League Trophy, scoring twice and getting an assist against the League One outfit.
The winger needs to be given plenty of opportunities this season and that has to start against Coventry in the EFL Cup. It will be incredibly frustrating to see Timo Werner starting ahead of him in the Midlands.
The 17-year-old was not in the academy’s squad to face Valencia in the PL International Cup, therefore, he is likely to be in the squad and hopefully he get some serious minutes.
