Chris Sutton has questioned whether Tottenham Hotspur should be ‘worried’ ahead of their meeting with Fulham this weekend.
Writing for BBC Sport, the pundit joked about the Premier League manager of the month ‘curse’ following back-to-back awards for Ange Postecoglou.
The 58-year-old has enjoyed a spectacular start to life in England and has taken Spurs to the top of the league table, winning six of their opening eight games.
As a result, Postecoglou was named manager of the month for both August and September, though there has been claims in the past that just one of these awards can cause the club to lose their next game.
The curse caused a dip in form for the likes of Unai Emery, Erik ten Hag and Mikel Arteta last season, though Ange clearly managed to avoid it last month.
Despite that, Sutton remains confident that Tottenham can retain their place at the top of the Premier League with a 3-1 win in North London. Though he has questioned how much longer their unbeaten run will go on for.

Sutton said: “I should maybe be a bit worried about this game for Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou because he has won two manager of the month awards now, and we all know what usually happens when someone wins one – they lose their next game!
“Fulham have already knocked Spurs out of the Carabao Cup on penalties this season too, but that was at Craven Cottage and I am pretty confident that Spurs will win this one at home.
“What I like about Spurs so far this season is that things have not always gone their way in games, but they have still found a way to win.
“Spurs will still have bumps in the road this season, and I don’t know how much longer their unbeaten start in the league will last, but I am not expecting it to end this weekend. They are playing with so much confidence and Fulham won’t be able to keep them out.”
Will Tottenham breeze past Fulham?
You would have to be crazy to tip Fulham to cause an upset this weekend, with Tottenham playing some of their best football since the days of Mauricio Pochettino.
While the likes of Sheffield United and Burnley have asked questions of Tottenham this season, they never really look like they are going to lose at the moment.

Spurs will have concerns if Cristian Romero and Heung-min Son are sidelined after picking up injuries during the international break, however I think the home side certainly still have enough to claim a comfortable three points against Fulham.
