Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has admitted his injury had him on the verge of tears in November.
It has been a sensational start to life in north London for Micky van de Ven since making the move from Wolfsburg.
But it hasn’t all been plain sailing with a major injury last year seeing him sidelined for a number of months.

In the most recent game against Crystal Palace, the Dutchman was seen struggling after a coming together with Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Despite going down and receiving treatment, the 22-year-old was able to carry on to the relief of all Spurs fans.
And this comes just months following his serious hamstring injury which he sustained against Chelsea.
The injury had the defender sidelined for 56 days and missed 10 games, speaking to the club’s website, he has admitted it had him on the verge of tears: “I’m going to say when I tore my hamstring against Chelsea. I’d done it before and I couldn’t believe it happened again. I mean, I wouldn’t say I was properly crying but it was a very emotional moment, obviously upsetting for me and difficult to accept.”
Van de Ven and Romero partnership
In signing the Dutchman, Ange Postecoglou looks to have secured himself one of the best centre-back duos in the league.
Van de Ven looks like the perfect addition to partner Cristian Romero in the Spurs defence.
Clean sheets have proven to be an issue for Spurs this season, but there is little doubt these two will provide a strong partnership for years to come.

The Dutchman has provided Spurs with sensational speed at the back having been clocked as the Premier League’s fastest ever player.
Postecoglou is clearly pleased with the progress of the 22-year-old and has even claimed his potential has ‘no ceiling‘.
