Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed a big injury boost with one of their key players making a major step towards returning from injury.

Ange Postecoglou is currently without several attacking options with Heung-min Son, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison all sidelined.

The 59-year-old was forced to start Timo Werner against Manchester United and could hand Mikey Moore his first senior start against Ferencvaros.

But one of their star men is now closing in on his long-awaited return from injury as he has stepped up his training plans.

Richarlison returns to training on grass

Richarlison is close to finally returning from a knee injury as the Brazilian has started training outside on grass. The 27-year-old’s return will be a big boost for Tottenham as Dominic Solanke is Postecoglou’s only genuine striker option.

Solanke has made a great start to life at Spurs with his performances and three goals in his last three games, but he will need a chance to be rested soon.

Will Lankshear is also an option, however, the 19-year-old has just returned from a hamstring injury and is unlikely to be starting first-team games anytime soon.

Therefore, Postecoglou will be hoping to have his £60 million man back as soon as possible, just to have another attacking option.

Heung-min Son and Destiny Udogie injury updates

The Australian coach has revealed that Heung-min Son is currently doing rehab at Hotspur Way whilst Destiny Udogie is fine after coming off against Manchester United.

Sonny missed the trip to Old Trafford with a hamstring injury, whilst Udogie was replaced by Djed Spence at half-time with a knock.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Ferencvarosi, Postecoglou said: “Squad-wise, from the weekend Destiny hasn’t travelled. It’s nothing significant, his injury but again it didn’t make sense to bring him over if he wasn’t going to play.

“Radu is suspended and Sonny is back in London doing rehab, but the rest of the squad plus the young players have travelled.”
