Tottenham Hotspur failed to put daylight between themselves and West Ham United on Monday after being held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds.
Winning on home soil is something that Tottenham have been unable to achieve this year, and that could cost Roberto De Zerbi’s team their Premier League status.
How are we not getting these decisions? 😡
Spurs still have not been awarded a penalty this season… 😳
Mathys Tel put Spurs ahead shortly after half-time, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised from the penalty spot to restore parity and earn Leeds a share of the spoils.
After the game, all of the talk was centred around a late penalty appeal when James Maddison went tumbling over after a challenge from Lukas Nmecha.

Premier League Match Centre send message to Tottenham
Jarred Gillett and the VAR Craig Pawson decided that Nmecha played the ball in his challenge on Maddison, and the penalty appeals were waved away.
After the game, the Match Centre posted on X exactly why the decision wasn’t given, with them posting: “The referee’s call of no penalty to Tottenham Hotspur was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that Nmecha played the ball.”
Maddison might have been tasked with dusting himself down and taking the penalty himself, given that Spurs haven’t had a spot kick in the Premier League since he got injured.
Tottenham will never know, though, with another decision seemingly going against them, with some replays not being completely conclusive that the ball was played by Nmecha.
Still, it possibly can’t be considered a clear and obvious error by the referee, and this is just another incident which hasn’t gone Tottenham’s way.
Tottenham are running out of time, and if West Ham go to Newcastle and claim a win, they will climb out of the relegation zone before Spurs go to Chelsea next midweek.
Things are starting to become a little bit perilous and Tottenham are now left sweating for a couple more weeks.
