Tottenham star seen training alone with fitness coach as he steps up recovery

Tottenham Hotspur have several injury issues right now, though it does not appear to have impacted their start to the season too much.

Thomas Frank is currently without the likes of James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Radu Dragusin.

Despite missing key players, Tottenham have still been able to win three of their first four Premier League games this season.

Radu Dragusin doing more individual work after ACL injury

During the international break, Dragusin took part in a team training session in a boost to Spurs.

However, as per The Standard, he has been doing more work individually with a fitness coach, away from Tottenham’s main group.

It should not be anything to panic about, with the defender perhaps just building up his fitness again after being out for so long.

Dragusin sustained his ACL injury all the way back in February and has not played since then. With Tottenham possessing both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, though, they have not missed Dragusin too much.

Van de Ven was able to score in Spurs’ 3-0 win against West Ham United over the weekend, and Romero’s name should probably also have been on the scoresheet.

The decision to disallow his goal after a push from Van de Ven was very questionable. Following his substitution, Frank was seen sharing a joke with Van de Ven after the Dutchman failed to score with his head, something that his manager had been demanding.

Thomas Frank cautious about Radu Dragusin injury

While Dragusin may be doing different forms of training again, Frank is still being cautious, given that it was an ACL injury that the Romania international picked up.

“I’m always a little bit more, not worried but just aware that it takes time,” Frank was quoted as saying by The Standard. “When you’ve been out of football for nine months, you know, you need to get in. It’s not enough to have a six-week pre-season. You need to take a little bit more time.”

With games coming thick and fast, it would be great if Frank had Dragusin available now. But this is not the kind of thing that you can rush.
