Tottenham Hotspur could be set for another Micky van de Ven blow with the defender currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
Van de Ven suffered a nasty-looking hamstring injury against Manchester City and he could be set for another spell on the sidelines.
Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Van de Ven is likely to be out until after the international break with Spurs’ first game being Manchester City away.
However, the Dutch international will be walking a tightrope when he eventually returns due to a Premier League rule which could be a big blow for the Lilywhites.

Micky van de Ven one booking away from suspension
The Premier League’s website shows that Micky van de Ven is just one booking away from a one-match suspension so he will need to tread carefully when he returns.
The 23-year-old is currently on four yellow cards after just ten matches and a fifth would result in a ban. Yellow cards reset at the halfway point in the season after 19 matches.
Tottenham have a crucial Carabao Cup quarter-final tie with Manchester United, however, yellow card suspensions do not carry across the different domestic competitions.
Van de Ven is set to miss Tottenham’s next league game against Ipswich with an injury and is currently doubtful to face Man City after the international break.
| Fixture | Date |
| Ipswich (H) | 10/11 |
| Man City (A) | 23/11 |
| Bournemouth (A) | 5/12 |
| Chelsea (H) | 8/12 |
| Southampton (A) | 15/12 |
| Liverpool (H) | 22/12 |
Fortunately, if Van de Ven were to pick up a suspension, Postecoglou now has Radu Dragusin to come into the team with the Romanian having really impressed against City and Villa.
What did Ange Potecoglou say about Micky van de Ven’s injury?
Postecoglou has revealed that he does not expect Van de Ven to miss too much football given there is a two-week break on the horizon.
The 59-year-old also claims that the defender’s injury is not as bad as his last hamstring injury which kept him out for two months.
Speaking to the media before the Villa game, Postecoglou said: “He was disappointed obviously. He was really looking forward to the game so he was a bit emotional. It is definitely not, knock-on-wood, a bad one like last time which kept him out for quite a while.
“He will work hard and the good thing is there is an international break in there which is an extra two weeks for us. So hopefully it means he doesn’t miss too much football.”
