Tottenham Hotspur have a host of players currently away on international duty.

The likes of Son Heung-min, Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie and Dejan Kulusevski, amongst many others, are – or will be – representing their countries.

On Friday, one Tottenham player delivered a solid performance for his country that had one media outlet deeming him ‘spectacular’.

The player in question is Pedro Porro, who shone for Spain in their 2-1 win over Denmark in the Nations League.

La Roja won thanks to goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Ayoze Perez, who put the visitors two up by the hour mark.

Gustav Isaksen gave Denmark hope with an 84th-minute effort, but the hosts could not find an equaliser by the final whistle.

Porro played a crucial role in helping the Euro 2024 champions get over the line, leading to praise from several Spanish media outlet.

What the Spanish media said about Tottenham ace Pedro Porro

Marca was blown away by Porro’s display, giving him an 8 out of 10 rating and singing his praises for his display in each half.

‘A great long pass from the right back to Ayoze on the run,’ they began. A very dynamic first half with masterful passes.

‘He put in a magnificent pass to Ayoze between the full back and the centre back but the Canary Islander’s shot crashed off the woodwork. A great first half.’

And of the second half, they said: ‘He is playing at a spectacular level. A great game, providing depth on the right wing and making some incredible passes.’

Meanwhile, El Desmarque gave Porro a 7 out of 10 rating and wrote: ‘The Extremadura native is becoming more and more established in the Spanish national team.

‘He was able to keep Gronbaek and Isaksen at bay until the final minutes and he also joined the attack with danger, always with precision in his passes.’

Finally, Sport gave the £40million man a 6 out of 10 rating and wrote: ‘The Spanish right-back had a good game.

‘He had some problems stopping Isaksen at the end, but he was successful in attack, making good passes to Ayoze.’

Porro stats for Spain v Denmark

Sofascore gave Porro a rating of 7.8 out of 10 and listed some impressive statistics from the Tottenham ace.

For instance, he won five of his nine ground duels, found the intended target with eight of his 10 long-ball deliveries, and completed 51 of his 57 passes.

Porro also made five tackles, four clearances and two interceptions, and also created one big chance for his teammates.

The Spaniard is a key asset for Tottenham, but the club’s resolve is likely to be tested in 2025 amid clubs circling in pursuit of his services.

Indeed, Spurs are said to be open to selling Pedro Porro to Real Madrid – on one condition.
