Tottenham Hotspur have struck gold a fair few times in the transfer market over the past couple of years.

Spurs have signed top talents – such as Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr – who have become Premier League stars.

It looks as though this will also be the case with Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, both of whom have arrived at Tottenham this summer.

Now, it looks like Spurs are set for a £3.75million windfall, thanks to a transfer decision they made two years ago.

Tottenham set to benefit from Jack Clarke sell-on clause

Back in 2022, Tottenham sold Jack Clarke to Sunderland for an undisclosed fee, but the deal included a sell-on clause.

Now, Clarke is set to move from Sunderland to Ipswich, and Sky Sports News journalist Dharmesh Sheth has shared how much Spurs are set to bank.

On Saturday morning, Sheth reported – via the Sky Sports website – that the former Spurs winger had completed his medical at the Premier League newcomers.

A formal announcement of the winger’s transfer from Sunderland is expected in the next 24 hours, added Sheth.

Ipswich will reportedly pay an initial £15million fee, plus around £3million in performance related add-ons.

And crucially for Tottenham, they will receive 25 percent of the fee due to a sell-on clause inserted in the deal when they sold Clarke to Sunderland two years ago.

Good to see Clarke back in the top flight

It’s good to hear that Spurs are now set to reap the rewards from the sell-on clause they inserted in the Clarke to Sunderland deal.

Although it didn’t work out for Clarke at Tottenham, they clearly had an inkling that he was destined for a big move later on in his career.

The 23-year-old is now set to return to the Premier League with the newly-promoted Tractor Boys. Best of luck to him!
