Tottenham will be making plans behind the scenes regarding next season, even if the club don’t have a clue what division they will be in next season.

A 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on Sunday in Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge has left the team 18th in the Premier League, and games against Brighton and Wolves are now hugely important.

😡 VOTE for Tottenham’s WORST player vs Sunderland…

Several players just haven’t cut it this season and a look back at the recruitment logic in the summer makes for some uncomfortable viewing from a Tottenham perspective.

Tottenham have had a lot of players simply not at the races far too often this season and now, reports are suggesting that one loan player is getting close to the end of the road in North London.

Joao Palhinha could return to Fulham in the summer

Moving from Bayern Munich in the summer, it felt as though Thomas Frank had pulled off a bit of a coup for Tottenham with the signing of a proven Premier League player.

However, Palhinha hasn’t proved to be a good signing at all, spending a lot of time injured, and when he has played, he’s looked like a patch of the player that he was at Fulham.

Now, Flashscore claims that Palhinha could return to the Cottagers in the summer, with the midfielder facing a bit of limbo.

Palhinha has no future under Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich and with De Zerbi now in place at Tottenham, his future also looks bleak with his loan club too.

The midfielder has played 39 games in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and claiming three assists, with a lot of his outings coming from the bench.

Tottenham have to improve on the recruitment front in the summer and for starters, it seems as though Palhinha will return to Bayern to end his Tottenham debacle.
