Tottenham Hotspur have sent a welcome message to Yang Min-hyeok on their social media as the winger prepares to arrive in London this month.

Yang will join Tottenham on January 1 and is expected to arrive in London in the next few weeks to start settling into life in a new city. Spurs paid £3 million in the summer to sign the 18-year-old from Gangwon FC where he remained on loan.

The young winger enjoyed an impressive campaign with the South Korean club with his performances in the early part of the season catching the North London club’s eye. Now, they have sent him a message to welcome him ahead of his arrival in the New Year.

Tottenham are excited about the arrival of Yang Min-hyeok in January following his award-winning campaign in the Korean top division. The winger won two awards including the K-League Young Player of the Year and was also named in the K-League Best XI 2024.

SpursOfficial wrote on X: “K-League Young Player of the Year. K-League Best XI 2024. See you soon, Yang”. His arrival next month will be a major boost for Ange Postecoglou’s squad with his forward options being decimated by injuries.

Postecoglou has lost Wilson Odobert and Richarlison to lengthy injuries, meanwhile, Mikey Moore is out for a few more weeks due to illness. Yang won’t be expected to make an immediate impact on the team, but having an extra body will be a big help.

Yang Min-hyeok’s K-League 2024 stats

Yang produced 12 goals and five assists in 37 league appearances for Gangwon as he helped fire them to their highest-ever finish in the K-League. Gangwon ended the season as runners-up with the new Spurs man playing a massive part in their success.

Along with winning the K-League Young Player of the Year and being part of the K-League Best XI, the 18-year-old shocked supporters by claiming the Player of the Month award back in January. He is the youngest player to ever win the award.
