The 18-year-old has already made his debut for the national team, but is now set to become a key player ahead of the World Cup.

Tottenham will be really excited to see one of their top talents going to the World Cup, where he will have the chance to showcase his incredible talents.

Luka Vuskovic is set to go to the World Cup

Croatian assistant manager Ivica Olic claims that Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic is set to go to the World Cup.

Currently, Croatia are facing a small injury crisis ahead of next summer’s tournament with Josko Gvardiol suffering a bad injury.

This means that Vuskovic is now likely to be named in the Croatian national team for next summer’s tournament, and there is much excitement around him.

Speaking to Sportske novosti, Olic revealed: “I will still talk to Zlatko Dalic, but I can say that Vuskovic will one hundred percent go with the senior team to the United States, considering the problems that exist in the senior team.”

The former Bayern Munich striker is very excited about the defender’s talent and claims he is already ‘one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga’.

“Luka is playing so well in HSV that he is one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga. For him, the young team is a finished story,” he added.

Bayern are one of the clubs monitoring Vuskovic, and Spurs could face a battle to keep him after the World Cup.

Vuskovic is open to staying at HSV for another season, where he dreams of playing with his brother, Mario, who is currently suspended until November.

Ivica Olic on the hype around Luka Vuskovic

Ivica Olic has also been speaking about the hype surrounding Vuskovic, and he thinks it is ‘fascinating’ how quickly he has adapted to life in Germany.

“I had the opportunity to watch him live in the HSV jersey a few times this season. It’s incredible how he’s risen; it’s fascinating for everyone,” claimed Olic.

“I knew what he had, but it was practically the last day of the summer transfer window, and I expected him to need a period of adjustment, especially considering his youth.

“However, he settled in very quickly, practically without adjustment. He played against Bayern from the plane.

“He immediately imposed himself as the leader of the defence, the way he plays, ugh… It’s not appropriate for his age.

Recently, Lothar Matthaus hailed Vuskovic and is backing him to have a very successful career.

Olic added: “It’s not just me saying that, Lothar Matthaus and Dietmar Hamann, who are television commentators, and others who were top players, are also talking about it.

“They said that he’s a boy who has something special; they see him at the highest level if he continues to develop like this.”
