After being sacked by Tottenham in June, Ange Postecoglou looks set for a swift return to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest. Spurs fans on social media have already weighed in with some early predictions on their former boss.
Ange Postecoglou, 60, certainly had a turbulent two years in charge at Tottenham.
Even though the Australian boss ended the club’s 17-year wait for silverware, winning the Europa League in May, he was dismissed from his role shortly after.
While the Spurs players were behind Postecoglou, their Premier League form in the 2024/25 season proved to be the difference for Postecoglou. His side finished 17th spot with 38 points in a 38-game campaign.

Tottenham fans worry about Ange Postecoglou at Nottingham Forest
Despite the excitement about seeing Postecoglou return to English football so quickly, Spurs fans on X predict that his imminent move to the City Ground could end in disaster.
One fan wrote: “It’s going to be weird seeing Ange at Forest.I don’t think they have the squad for his playing style; let’s see.”
“This is great news. Can’t wait for Ange ball at Forrest. Wow, their poor fans are going to suffer massively. Injuries and wide-open football are going to be all too easy to get at them unless he drops the stubborn approach and learns from his mistakes,” another commented.
One supporter posted: “If Forest appoint Ange you have to question what their board discussed. Such contrasting styles of play, going completely against what’s worked so well for them over the past 18 months. Long term, this has a disaster written all over it no matter how well it may start.”
“You will ship goals, so you have to be able to score a LOT. I have seen Ange ball. I don’t see it being your solution. But let’s see,” another said.
If Postecoglou brings his renowned style of play, which includes a high defensive line and expansive football, it would be a stark difference to Forest’s tight system under Nuno Espirito Santo.
