Radu Dragusin managed to score his first-ever intentional goal during Romania’s emphatic 3-0 Nations League win over Cyprus.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender is a key part of the Romanian national team who had a successful Euro 2024 campaign and who are now on course for promotion in the Nations League.

The 3-0 win means Mircea Lucescu’s team are top of League C Group 2 and set to move up to the second tier of the Nations League.

Dragusin powered home a header to score Roamnia’s third goal against Cyprus and after the win, Tottenham fans have been making big claims about the 22-year-old.

Tottenham fans call for Dragusin-Van de Ven partnership

Tottenham fans have taken to social media to share their desire to see Dragusin get handed more minutes by Ange Postecoglou. The defender has made just one league start so far this campaign which came following an injury to Micky van de Ven.

Spurs supporters have called for him to partner Van de Ven against West Ham with Cristian Romero’s recent performance against Brighton seeing him heavily criticised. His commitment to the North London club has also been questioned with his desire dropping below what is expected.

Fans took to X to make claims about the Aregtine being dropped for Dragusin: “If Ange has anything about him he would bench Cristian Romero next weekend,” claimed one supporter.

One fan said: “Would love to see a Dragusin and Van de Ven partnership. Dragusin never makes silly mistakes costing us goals, I don’t know why Ange keeps sticking with Romero, who cost us the Leicester, Newcastle, and Arsenal games by switching off in critical moments.”

“Maybe it’s time for Dragusin. Play Spence against West Ham, I want Ange to play players that actually want to be here,” another fan stated.

How could Tottenham line up vs West Ham United?

Tottenham are set to be handed two big injury boosts with Heung-min Son and Richarlison both expected to return to training this week.

The South Korean has missed Spurs’ last three matches with a hamstring injury, whilst Richy has been missing for the last eight games with a knock.

Other changes Postecoglou could make may involve Dragusin coming in for Romero and Djed Spence replacing Destiny Udogie. Udogie’s fitness has looked off recently and he could do with a rest.

However, these changes seem unlikely at this stage and Son for Timo Werner is the only expected alteration from the defeat to Brighton.

Tottenham’s predicted line-up vs West Ham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski; Johnson, Son, Solanke.
