Tottenham Hotspur fans are adamant that Luka Vuskovic is not yet ready for Premier League football after England scored four past Croatia.
Harry Kane netted a brace, Jude Bellingham netted the third, and Marcus Rashford sealed the win late on with the fourth.
🤔 Keep, loan or sell: What should Tottenham do with Luka Vuskovic this summer?
Spurs have already rejected a £35m bid from Brighton…
Defensively, Croatia looked all over the place at times, and Vuskovic seemed to struggle against the sheer quality of England’s attack.
Following Croatia’s heavy defeat to England, Spurs fans have given their take on the youngster and what should be done with him following interest from Brighton.
Tottenham fans think Luka Vuskovic needs a loan
Tottenham fans are calling for Luka Vuskovic to be sent out on loan after he proved he is still a raw talent in Croatia’s 4-2 defeat to England.
It was a tough evening for the 19-year-old, who found himself a bit out of his depth against the likes of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham.
The defender was taken off after 66 minutes as Croatia tried to go a bit more attacking, but ultimately, it was clear that he struggled.
After the game, Spurs fans told Vuskovic he should look to gain experience on loan before demanding a big-money transfer away.
- “Some ok moments from Vuskovic, but on this evidence, we should probably not allow a 19-year-old kid to dictate anything to us, humbled slightly.”
- “I know Vuskovic is 19 and has unbelievable potential, but if a CB has a glaring physical ceiling like that… It doesn’t magically go away in a few years. Kid’s got the frame of Van de Ven with half the pace.”
- “Vuskovic is not ready to start Premier League games, either accept a loan at Brighton or elsewhere and come back in a year or two ready to compete for a starting spot.”
- “Obviously, it is only one game, but I didn’t see anything from Vuskovic that makes me change my mind in thinking he isn’t ready to be starting PL games for us. The kid needs to accept that he is still raw and needs at least one more loan.”
- “Vuskovic, like many young talents, listens to the noise around him and tries to run before he walks. A loan is better suited to his development rather than the pressure of a big price tag.”
Vuskovic is keen to leave Tottenham following the arrivals of Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi, with Brighton looking to sign him.
However, the young Croatian defender should consider doing another loan and proving himself in the Premier League before trying to force a move away.
Luka Vuskovic on making his World Cup debut
Vuskovic has admitted that England are a ‘top team’ and Croatia will need to learn from their tough defeat in Dallas.
Speaking to Croatian media, Vuskovic said: “We had some good things, but also a lot of bad things. We have to learn something from this defeat and prepare for the second game.
“This is a tournament, we will give our best in the other matches. We lost to a top team, we have to hold our heads high, we have two more games ahead of us.”
