Tottenham Hotspur have added a fourth member to their leadership group following their growing influence in the dressing room.

Spurs’ current group of leaders is comprised of Heung-min Son, James Maddison and Cristian Romero who were appointed as vice-captains by Ange Postecoglou.

Son has stepped up to the mantle of being captain by offering his support for players who are going through tough periods in their careers.

Meanwhile, Maddison and Romero are both experienced players who have a pedigree of playing key roles in trophy-winning teams. Now, a fourth leader has been added to the group of influential voices in the Spurs dressing room.

Tottenham add Guglielmo Vicario to leadership group

Tottenham have added goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as the fourth member of their leadership group, according to Football.London. The Italian has emerged as someone who has a big influence in the dressing room as well as on the pitch and that has now been recognised.

He joins Son, Maddison and Romero as a key figure other players in the squad can look to and they now have leaders in all four lines of their team.

Vicario’s abilities have been called into question over recent weeks with concerns over the way he struggles to command his area, especially at corners.

However, as a voice in the dressing room, the 27-year-old is now one of the main men at the North London club despite only arriving just over a year ago.

Vicario’s bizarre handball incident vs Brentford

Vicario ended up being a very lucky boy against Brentford as he avoided any punishment for appearing to handle the ball outside of his penalty area.

The goalkeeper spilt a cross just on the edge of his box and as he went to grab it he pushed the ball outside his area and handled the ball again.

VAR was unable to get involved, however, as it was not the denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, the technology could not get involved.
