Tottenham lost 1-0 to Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday and many fans have taken to social media to voice their opinion on Guglielmo Vicario’s performance.
Ange Postecoglou rolled the dice with an extremely attacking side, featuring a midfield three of Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
And, it is fair to say that the gamble paid off as Spurs were the more dangerous side for most of the game.
But Postecoglou’s side encountered the same problem that stopped them from winning previous Premier League games against Newcastle United and Leicester City – a lack of cutting edge.
They were made to pay for not taking their chances in the 64th minute when Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes scored from a corner.
Spurs have consistently struggled to defend set pieces under Postecoglou and they looked shaky on many occasions before Gabriel’s goal on Sunday.
Some will blame the management but several others have pointed the finger at Vicario for his lack of aerial prowess.

Tottenham fans react to Guglielmo Vicario’s performance
Tottenham supporters are not impressed with Vicario after his shaky performance against Arsenal in the North London derby.
Indeed, many point to his inability to collect crosses as the key reason for Spurs’ susceptibility to conceding goals from set pieces.
A fan posted: ‘Can’t remember a keeper with a worse command of a box than him. Makes all the good work so far pointless.’
One wrote: ‘I love Vicario but you can’t be on your line when the corner is about 4-5 yards out. You just can’t. It’s gotta be yours, or punched as far as you can.’
Another added: ‘Vicario very poor there, has to be coming for that.’
A supporter said: ‘Someone has to watch back games and find out how many points Vicario has lost us, doubt anyone comes close.’
However, one Spurs fan suggested that the blame lies with Postecoglou more than Vicario at this point.
They wrote: ‘Every point we lose from a set-piece goal at this stage is a MASSIVE mark against Ange Postecoglou. Yes, Vicario has to do so much more there. Yes, I trust Ange wholeheartedly. But this is madness. 14 months and it’s still costing us.’
Meanwhile, another supported reflected on Tottenham’s decision to sign Vicario rather than David Raya – who has been excellent for Arsenal since joining from Brentford.
They posted: ‘The decision to walk away from the Raya deal to spend less on Vicario was a shocker but classic ENIC.’
