The four Tottenham teenagers who could now play against Qarabag

Tottenham Hotspur will be eager to get their Europa League campaign off to a good start when they host Qarabag FK on Thursday night.

Spurs appear to have turned a corner over the past week, coming from behind to beat both Coventry City and Brentford.

Now, Tottenham will hope to keep their momentum going when they host the champions of Azerbaijan at N17.

However, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou will no doubt be keeping an eye on Sunday’s Premier League trip to Manchester United.

With that in mind, Tottenham are likely to make a number of changes for the Qarabag game.

This would enable Postecoglou to rest his big guns and also give some academy stars and fringe players a chance.

The Spurs News looks at four teenagers who could be in the matchday squad – or even the starting XI – against the 11-time Azerbaijani champions.

Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall

Gray and Bergvall both arrived at N17 this summer, from Leeds United and Djurgarden respectively, though the latter’s deal was formalised at the start of the year.

Both 18-year-olds have taken to life at Tottenham very well, featuring prominently in pre-season.

Both also started the League Cup meeting with Coventry, along with getting minutes in the Premier League.

Gray could potentially feature in midfield, but he could also start at right-back instead of Pedro Porro.

Meanwhile, Bergvall is likely to replace James Maddison, who’s in great form but could well be rested ahead of the Man United game.

Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear

Moore and Lankshear, both 17 years old, have both come through the ranks at Tottenham and featured in pre-season.

It speaks volumes about their quality that Postecoglou didn’t even send them out on loan, instead keeping them in the first-team picture.

Tottenham’s Under-21s were in EFL Trophy action at Exeter City on Tuesday night, but neither Moore nor Lankshear were in the squad.

Both players also took part in senior training, as per Alasdair Gold.

It seems less likely that either player would start, but there’s a good chance they’ll be in the squad and get some game time off the bench.
