Tottenham Hotspur will look to build on their last-gasp League Cup win in midweek by returning to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday.

Spurs face Brentford in a 3pm kick-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Ange Postecoglou hasn’t got too many problems squad-wise.

Just two players are set to miss out for Tottenham against Brentford, as per Postecoglou’s pre-match press conference comments (football.london).

They are Wilson Odobert, who has a hamstring issue, and Richarlison, who picked up an injury in training at the start of September.

In terms of returns, midfielder Yves Bissouma and forward Timo Werner have returned to training and are available to face the Bees.

Tottenham fans have now called on Postecoglou to start one of the standout players from the midweek win over Coventry.

Tottenham fans call for Djed Spence to start against Brentford

Djed Spence hasn’t had the best of times at Tottenham so far, but he has been working especially hard and was rewarded with game time in the second half of the Coventry game.

Some wondered why Postecoglou decided to bring Spence on for Destiny Udogie, but the Tottenham coach’s decision was vindicated when the £20million man scored the equaliser.

Now, Spurs fans believe Spence deserves to come in for the Brentford game, potentially replacing Udogie in the XI.

Spence gives Postecoglou food for thought

Just a few months ago, it looked as though Spence was set to be sold by Tottenham.

However, he worked so hard in pre-season that Postecoglou decided to keep him at the club, and it has proven a good decision.

At the same time, Tottenham’s decision not to include him in their Europa League squad is looking more and more ridiculous with each passing day.

At least Spence’s impressive appearance will have given Postecoglou more food for thought in terms of his options in the Premier League and domestic cups.
