TalkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has been left furious with Tottenham Hotspur’s season ticket price rise.

On Wednesday, the club announced season tickets for next season would be seeing a price hike of six per cent.

A huge increase in price considering the club could find themselves eight points adrift of the top four on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham season ticket price increase

After what has been a really impressive season on the pitch, Daniel Levy now finds his name in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Ange Postecoglou has brought the fans back close to the club with the performances on display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it seems the latest announcement from the club may be going a long way to worsen the relationship with the fans.

And speaking on TalkSPORT, Agbonlahor has vented his fury at the Spurs board. He said: “This might price certain people out of their budget. So like you said, it’s a rich club, not winning any trophies as well. Yes, the football is better, it’s exciting football. But hang on a second, maybe start winning some trophies, Spurs, before you start throwing up a 6% rise.”

Tottenham fans furious

As the cost of living means many are forced to make tough economic decisions, it seems Spurs are showing little consideration to their faithful supporters.

Over the last 12 months, Spurs have seen a new manager come in who is earning £10m less than the previous one (Antonio Conte).

And they have also sold their homegrown player in Harry Kane for £100m.

Despite the club being in a fit financial state, it is still the fans who are being made to cover the rising costs that the club are also experiencing.

It is believed, this season back-up goalkeeper Fraser Forster will earn just shy of £4m. He has played just 90 minutes of football this season.

It is when you consider this type of situation that the furious reaction of the affected Spurs fans is completely understandable.

Football is an escape from reality for many, but when the prices are being continuously raised, it is difficult to find any relief from the crippling outside world.
