Tottenham Hotspur are top of the Premier League by two clear points after they defeated Fulham 2-0.

It was another night to remember at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Ange Postecoglou‘s side, with admittedly not their finest performance of the season, still scored two goals to overcome Marco Silva’s Fulham.

It was goals from who else than the electric duo of Son Heung Min and James Maddison that ensured Spurs picked up all three points on Monday.

Despite the skipper’s goal and an assist – he had praise for another ‘special’ Tottenham star on the night.

Heung Min-Son has immense praise for Cristian Romero

Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Son lauded Cristian Romero after the victory over Fulham.

“Cuti (Romero) is just special,” the Spurs skipper said. “Just look at him, I could watch him all day sitting here and watch the way he plays.”

Romero has been a bit of an unsung hero for Spurs this season. He is an ever-present rock at the back and has formed a formidable partnership with new Dutch signing Micky van de Ven.

Romero arrived from Atalanta for £42.5m in 2022, following a loan from the club in 2021.

The centre-back penned a deal with Spurs that will run until 2027 – which were massively grateful for.

Spurs haven’t had a centre-back pairing this good since the days of Jan Vertognhen and Toby Alderweireld. Long may it continue!

So had praise for the 25-year-old, but his numbers speak for themselves. Here’s how he fared individually last night as Spurs ran out 2-0 winners.

What a monster. If anything good came from the Antonio Conte era at Tottenham Hotspur – it was definitely acquiring the Argentine on a permanent deal.
