Steve Cook has applauded Brennan Johnson following his move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking on the Garibaldi Red Podcast, the former Nottingham Forest defender has praised the ‘talented’ forward and has predicted him to succeed at Spurs.
Johnson became a fan favourite at Forest in recent years, netting 18 goals and providing 10 assists in the Championship as they returned to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.

He went onto pick up eleven goal contributions in their first campaign in the top flight before earning himself a £47.5 million move to North London on transfer deadline day.
While definitely not a direct replacement, Johnson arrives at Tottenham to take up the void left behind by Harry Kane following his switch to Bayern Munich. The Wales international has taken a huge step from the City Ground, but Cook believes he can ‘go to the next level’ with his new club.
Brennan Johnson will ‘be a regular’ for Tottenham
“He’s so young and so talented,” Cook said. “Brennan [Johnson] is naturally extremely fast, a very good finisher and progressed a lot in a short space of time.
“It was a huge expectation on his shoulders for a young boy coming through having to score the goals to take us back to the Premier League is massive.

“He kind of just got on with it and I think when you can do that, you can manage them expectations better and grabbing the goals he scored last year just go to show what he’s capable of.
“He is a top player Brennan and he can be anything he wants to be. If he can get his head down he can go to the next level and be a regular at a top four or top six side.”
Johnson will be hoping to make his Spurs debut this weekend as they host Sheffield United. With Richarlison struggling for form since his arrival from Everton, Johnson is likely to take a place in the starting line-up alongside the likes of Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.
