Rodrigo Bentancur’s personal trainer has issued a positive update on the Tottenham midfielder in wake of his sickening head injury on Monday night.
The Spurs star was involved in a frightening incident in the club’s Premier League opener at Leicester City.
Bentancur was involved in a clash of heads that seemingly left him unconscious. He received treatment on the pitch for close to 10 minutes.
The Tottenham ace subsequently left on a stretcher and received oxygen, though he did appear to sit up just before being stretchered off the pitch.
After the game, Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Bentancur was “conscious and communicating” post-match, and the player travelled back on the team bus.

Rodrigo Bentancur appears to be ‘recovering well’
Daniel Fernandez has now spoken about the incident, and revealed that Bentancur “reacted well” in the dressing room an hour after the game.
“It was a great scare, but it seems to me that he is recovering well,” Fernandez said, as per Uruguayan outlet Medios Publicos. “After an hour in the dressing room, he reacted well.
“Today he will continue with some tests that they are going to do and well we’re hoping that everything continues as it has so far.
“I think he was in a good mood and in good condition.
“It’s difficult sometimes to think what may happen but good thanks to God it seems to me that everything is going to be fine, and Rodrigo is going to be in optimal conditions.”
Who could replace Bentancur for Tottenham against Everton
It’s good to hear that Bentancur appears to be recovering well. It was a horrendous incident and luckily things seem to be on the right track.
Concussion protocols mean he will almost certainly be absent from Saturday’s Premier League match with Everton.
This means Yves Bissouma could potentially come back in after his one-match suspension by the club for disciplinary reasons.
Alternatively, Archie Gray could come in if Postecoglou doesn’t pick Bissouma.
