Paul Merson has delivered a pretty scathing verdict on Tottenham as they bid to survive relegation to the EFL this season.
Tottenham are without a Premier League win in 2026 and remain just four points clear of West Ham, who occupy the spot in 18th place right now.
😡 Who was Tottenham’s worst player vs Fulham?
Defeat to Fulham has done Tottenham no favours at all, and with Crystal Palace to play at home before games against Liverpool and Forest, a win is needed from the next round of fixtures.
Merson has now delivered a scathing verdict on Tottenham and thinks they could be in huge trouble if they don’t improve soon.

Paul Merson thinks Tottenham might finish 19th
It’s ridiculous to think it, but Merson believes Tottenham might actually finish second bottom.
On Soccer Saturday, a graphic was flashed up on the screen showing Tottenham’s remaining games and the result from the corresponding fixture last season.
“If it carries on like that, they’re playing Lincoln at home next season, it’s as simple as that.
“They are, anything like that, they’ll finish second bottom in the league, that is scary looking at that, I know they had Europa League last season but they need to get a result from somewhere.
“The team that gets over the line will be that one team that gets a result where it’s unexpected and you think, ‘I didn’t see that one coming’, but when I name Leeds, Forest, West Ham and Tottenham, the team I least expect to get that result is Tottenham.”
One win would ease Tottenham’s situation
With Forest in hapless form and West Ham boasting hard fixtures, Tottenham are so close to making the end of the season much more comfortable.
Palace are indifferent at the moment, and although they were in better form against Manchester United, they did still lose the game on Sunday.
Tottenham now have a golden chance to claim a big victory against Palace and ease some of the tension in their fight against survival this season.
Igor Tudor isn’t exactly hitting all the right notes with his interviews either and a victory is badly needed for his own future at the football club too.
Things are becoming perilous for Spurs and it will be interesting to see what happens when the Eagles arrive in North London on Thursday night.
